Beckham’s Law Calculator: Calculate your Tax as an for Expat in Spain
Find out how much money you can save in your Spanish Taxes with the Beckham Law
The Beckham’s Law is one of the most appealing tax breaks for Expats moving to Spain. If you’re planning your relocation, you can apply for this benefit (although you must do so within the first 6 months of arriving), and receive a flat Income tax charge of 24%, as opposed to the progressive tax rate which goes up to 47%.
There are a number of requirements which you must meet to guarantee yourself this lower tax rate, but we’ve put together a clear guide which you can read here.
But before you even consider applying, you should calculate how much money you’ll save by having the Beckham’s Law benefit, because it’s not beneficial to everyone. Only after a certain amount of earnings it makes sense to apply for the Beckham Law.
Use the calculator below, by adding your expected yealy salary in Spain; to see the breakdown between your Net Earnings with, and without Beckham’s Law.
Beckham’s Law Income Tax Calculator
Your Annual Income
*This tax breakdown is only an estimation, and should NOT be used to settle your taxes. The calculator does not take into account tax rates for different cities, and it assumes you are elegible for the standard personal allowance of €5,500 which may vary person to person.
How do I know if it’s worth for me to apply for the Beckham Law?
Well, the first thing you’ll need to look at is if you’ll be saving money on your earnings. If our tax calculator above shows a significant number of savings per month, it’s most likely a worthy option for you!
But if you don’t quite meet the threshold yet to save money on the tax rate, you may also want to consider applying if you’re expecting an increase in earnings soon. The reason for this, is that you can only apply for this benefit within the first 6 months of moving to Spain. So, if in a year time your salary has increased and you don’t have this benefit, you will need to pay the normal tax rate and you will no longer be elegible to apply for the Beckham’s Law.
How do I start my Beckham’s Law application?
If you’re sure you meet the requirements and that the benefit is worth it for you. You should get started with your application as soon as possible, as it can take a couple of months to get approved.

If you go on the Spanish Government’s website you won’t actually find a form for “Beckham’s Law”, and that’s because this is not the offiical name of the law. It was just famous for this name because of ex-Real Madrid Football player David Beckham. The actual name is Régimen especial aplicable a los trabajadores, profesionales, emprendedores e inversores desplazados a territorio español. The form applicable is the Modelo 149 and you can find it here. But it’s not just the form you need to fill, you will also need to submit all the documents required based on your situation to provide proof that you’re elegible for this tax break.

My experience with Mattuto truly exceeded my expectations. I was going through a very stressful period during my relocation and they managed to step in with very smooth communication in order for me to attain my NIE. They also managed to cater to my personal needs and adapt their package to me having to deal with this transition as an individual.
